But, Scorch was not worried, for he trains very hard and long to be sure to handle any situation that he came across. The next day, rested and packed, Scorch started heading out East from the village to a cloud-high mountain that would seem tiny by comparison when seen from a distance. In order to reach this tower, Scorch would have to walk for three days and four nights; making sure to be on his guard every time he made camp. After trekking for days, he would see this towering mountain that would go on for miles. Unlike most mountains, this one would have no entrance. No visible signs of any large holes for getting inside. Flying would be the only option was the surrounding features are too sharp and unstable to climb. Making sure to be in full fighting form, Scorch would stop every mile and a half or so to be sure to catch his breath and gather back his strength.
Eating whatever food he had left so he can still have the strength to fight.
At the peak of the mountain, would stand a very large open cave that is nearly 80 ft high and the depth of the cave, pitch black. Scorch, armor set and head strong, he slowly inched his way inside the cave. He moved so slowly, that you can hear the drops fall from the ceiling and into the little puddles that lay below. Scorch, although able to see with some light from the entrance, slowly entered into an area where light was all but lost.
Knowing this, he fashioned a small torch with some wood, string from his bag, and the fire from his breath. What he noticed was an endless series of caves all around him.
Not sure which cave to go through first, he made to sure to keep a straight path, all the while making a small thin path on the floor so he can make his way back should he come across a dead-end. Of course, not every cave is without a few of these, so Scorch would end up finding his way back a few times to the beginning.
He was sure to mark whatever dead-end he came across with a tiny mark at the top of each cave. Being the lucky dragon he is, he ended up finding the right path and kept making his way inside. Several hours after making his way inside, he came across the widest and tallest room he could ever hope to see.
In this room there were hundreds and hundreds of spikes coming down off the ceilings, several pools of water where moisture would fall, and what would sit at the very back, but none other than the Dreaded-One.
But, being the sneaky, ninja-like one that is Scorch, he made sure to keep down and out of sight behind several, conveniently placed boulders.
Scorch would watch the D-O as he sat at his "throne." Studying the Rogue dragon and looking for any weaknesses. Having finished his study of his opponent, Scorch was sure to remain very quiet as he stealthy made his way over to the D-O.
Finalizing his method on approach, he made sure to hit his mark and main the dragon before he could counter-attack.
The Rogue dragon wasn't ready to go down without a fight though.
He could be just as strong as Scorch and neither side would know it.
Both dragons stood up, Scorch without a scratch, and the Rogue a slightly injured wing.
For everybody knows that if a dragon can't fly, it can't get away.
When last we left our hero, Scorch was about to face off against the Dreaded-One.
This rogue dragon may have suffered a small injury to his wing, small by comparison to his size, he wasn't ready to give up without a fight.
D-O stood up as high as a 10ft bolder. Rearing his ugly face and getting ready to pounce down on Scorch. But Scorch was smarter and save the attack coming. He was sure to move to either side to avoid the slam form D-O's powerful front legs. *BAM*
